Holi Moly

VGP/GF
From Gabby Finley ‘17:

This past Saturday, the St. Luke's community celebrated their version of the Holi Festival. Holi is a traditional Indian festival of colors and is celebrated to eliminate conflict and welcome the spring season. All proceeds of the St. Luke’s Holi Festival went to Uplift Humanity India, which is an organization that fights juvenile incarceration in India.

The festival kicked off at 3:00pm with lawn games and a live band featuring our own Will Reed '17. Finally, at 4:00pm, the main event began. Powder of every color was thrown into the air by a crowd of students and faculty, making a cloud of color on our senior parking lot. St. Luke's student Ajit Akole '18 reflected on the day by saying "it was a great way to expose people to a different culture while also helping an important cause."

Our student government organized a very successful first Holi Festival, earning a total of $570! Watch a video highlighting some moments from the fun event.
