Welcome to St. Luke’s School! By virtue of your child’s enrollment here, you have become a member of the St. Luke’s community and, importantly, the St. Luke’s Parents’ Association. I look forward to getting to know you and your child. Parents are an integral part of the St. Luke’s family and, through your efforts, we contribute to the unique community spirit that thrives on the Hilltop.

The Parents’ Association works in close partnership with the administration, faculty and staff to support a wonderfully vibrant and nurturing environment for our children. Our purpose is to support the mission of the School which prepares students for a lifelong commitment to learning and social responsibility. We do this by promoting and funding student and parent social activities, assisting in funding of important educational opportunities and special programs related directly to the student body. The Association provides an organizational framework within which we work to achieve these goals through numerous volunteer opportunities and events.

Many of the Parents’ Association activities are traditional school events such as welcome coffees and evening events, faculty/staff appreciation parties, and an annual “Gathering” each spring for all parents. As volunteers, we help with Photo Day, the school store and library, and offer our time and talent to athletic teams and musical and drama productions. We also assist in funding class enrichment activities, scholarships and school-wide initiatives.

I hope you will join us for our meetings (traditionally scheduled the second Wednesday of each month) where we have an opportunity to meet and exchange information and ideas. Our Head of School, Mark Davis, is a regular speaker, and we often also have faculty and administration discussing topics of interest to the community. Minutes are always posted on the St. Luke’s website in the event you are unable to attend.

The St. Luke’s website is a vital communication link for the entire community. Not only will you find general information about St. Luke’s School and specific information about your own child, but also information about the SLS Parents’ Association.

If you have questions or comments, I encourage you to contact any of the Parents’ Association Executive Board members, your class representatives or committee chairpersons. We all stand ready to welcome you into our very special school community. I hope you will find opportunities to participate actively in the life of St. Luke’s through its Parents’ Association.

Sincerely,

Jessica T. Benoliel
President
