SLS Parents’ Association Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting

The SLS Parents’ Association will host its Annual Spring Luncheon on Wednesday, May 14^th at 12:00pm. This year we will be leaving the immediate vicinity of New Canaan and venturing just 5 miles away to the wonderful vistas of Oak Hills Golf Course. Nestled in the clubhouse and overlooking the 18^th hole is the newly renovated, Quattro Pazzi Restaurant. This should prove to be a DELICIOUS afternoon, so look for your invitations in the mail next week and please send your R.S.V. P, by May 7, to Mary Wathen at mwathen2@aol.com

The slate of officers for the 2008-2009 Parents’ Association Executive Board will be voted on at this meeting. All parents of St. Luke’s students are voting members of the PA and we would love to see you all on the 14^th.

A Message from the PA Nominating Committee

The PA Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the following slate of officers for the 2008-09 Parents’ Association Executive Board. Please note that a new position, Vice President of Diversity, has been added to the slate of officers in order to fulfill the PA’s mission of supporting the school’s Vision for Diversity by serving as a resource to St. Luke’s families. We are confident that this dedicated group of volunteers will do a wonderful job leading our Parents’ Association next year. The slate will be voted on at our PA Spring Luncheon and Annual Meeting on Wednesday, May 14. As all parents are voting members of the PA, we encourage your attendance. The St. Luke’s Parents’ Association consists of all parents and guardians of students enrolled at St. Luke’s School. Its goal is to build and strengthen the entire school community through educational, informational, social, and fundraising projects. The Parents’ Association supports the mission of the school, in partnership with faculty, administration, and the Board of Trustees, to prepare students for a lifelong commitment to learning and social responsibility. The Association encourages all members to volunteer and become involved in the activities of the school.

For students who have been productively engaged in and out of the classroom through several years of college prep schooling, notification of college admissions during the senior year is often a culminating moment. The college counseling process at St. Luke's School is designed to ensure, to the extent possible, that it is an affirming moment as well—with good news heard by all.
