St. Luke’s Debate Camp focuses on preparing students for participation and competition in speech and debate.
Our Beginner Camp is open to anyone interested in learning or practicing the fundamentals of debate. With hands-on coaching provided by several of St. Luke’s most accomplished alumni debaters and faculty lead Beth Yavenditti, the program focuses in particular on CX Cross Examination Debate, with sessions across the week devoted to case building and strategy, rebuttals and judging paradigms, and practice debate rounds, culminating with a tournament on Friday.
The program is open to students entering grades 9-12, with students being grouped into cohorts according to their tournament experience and age.
