Spend a morning at the Metropolitan Museum of Art exploring humanity’s greatest artistic achievements. Join 4-6 other participants on a carefully tailored and privately curated tour designed to illuminate that week’s theme. Each visit will involve thoughtful and reflective discussion based on five pre-selected works of global art. Rather than rush through the museum in order to maximize quantity, these sessions are designed to allow the participant time to savor a small selection of artwork as the instructor provides rich context and vibrant detail. Participants need not have a background in art or art history to participate; a general curiosity regarding how cultures have historically expressed love, war, identity, and power through art is the only prerequisite. Two separate sessions will be offered, one for students and one for adults. The program fee includes the cost of museum admission.
