Top Awards for St. Luke’s Students At COLT Foreign Language Poetry Contest

St. Luke’s students triumphed in April’s COLT (Council of Language Teachers) Poetry Recitation Contest held in East Haven, CT. This annual competition invites students from all around the state to memorize and recite a poem in a non-native language. Eight St. Luke’s students received top medals for the recitations. Awards went to the following:

Ancient Greek—Colette Juran ‘17 (1st place HS1)
Chinese—Brian Peck ‘19 (2nd place HS1), Ryan Murphy ‘17 (2nd place HS2), Erik Eveland ‘16 (1st place HS4)
French—Marie Berliet ‘21 (1st place MS Heritage), Sophia Sarrazin ‘22 (2nd place MS Heritage), Erik Eveland ‘16 (1st place HS5/6)
Spanish—Carolina Warneryd ‘19 (1st place HS3), Andrew Wilson ‘20 (3rd place MS2)

Kudos to the twelve St. Luke’s foreign language students for going above & beyond to prepare for this contest. Participating St. Luke’s students included Sophia Sarrazin '22, Zoe Troeger '22, Ellie Bailey '21, Marie Berliet '21, Andrew Wilson '20, Nick Meyers '19, Brian Peck '19, Carolina Warneryd '19, Amelia Wyckoff '18, Colette Juran '17, Ryan Murphy '17, and Erik Eveland '16.
