Maggie Lange '25 Wins Middle School Artwork of the Week

Nancy Sarno
Maggie won Middle School Artwork of the Week for this amazing landscape painting of an imaginary forest scene. She painted this beautifully composed scene on a small canvas, and yet included fun details, including reflections of the trees in the water, different shades of green for the shrubbery around the island, and a very lightly glowing sunset behind the trees. Not only that, she has painted at least ten different paintings inspired, like this one, by Bob Ross, the artist who had a show on public television in the 1980's and can still be seen on Youtube today. She suggested that the class might like to watch one of his shows on Youtube and create paintings inspired by his work, and we did, with great success. Thank you Maggie!
