The St. Luke’s Girls Varsity Basketball team won its home opener on Tuesday, January 8, beating Greens Farms Academy 65-53.

After starting the season with eight straight road games, the Storm returned to Carey Gymnasium for its first FAA contest of the year.

St. Luke’s started well and led the Dragons 38-29 at halftime on the back of 20 points from Caroline Lau ‘22.

The defending FAA Champions extended the advantage at the start of the second period to 45-30, but a spirited display from GFA kept the game close until the final stages. Lau was top scorer with 25 points followed by Janelle Johnson ‘20 putting up 15 and Sydney Cummings ‘19 adding nine.

The Storm improved to 8-1 on the season with its only loss coming against The Rivers School in the Noble and Greenough Tournament on December 30.
