Student Docents on 9th Grade Met Museum Trip

V Parker
On June 3, the Class of 2022 headed to New York City for the 4th Annual 9th Grade Metropolitan Museum field trip. It was a great opportunity for the students to see various artifacts and works of art they had studied throughout the year.

Ninth Grade Class Co-Dean Abby Abbott shared, “The students did not just observe the artwork, but also served as their own docents. Under the guidance of our Academic Technologist, Matt Bavone, the 9th graders created original audio guides before their trip. Students used their phones to listen to the audio guides as they toured around the Egyptian, Greco-Roman, Southeast Asian, African, the Americas, Islamic World, and Near Eastern galleries.”

If you are planning a trip to the Metropolitan Museum, we invite you to download the guides and have our 9th graders serve as your audio docent: SLS MET Audio Tour List 1, SLS MET Audio Tour List 2, SLS MET Audio Tour List 3, and SLS MET Audio Tour List 4.
