SLS Theater Tackles Online Productions With Great Success

Recordings of the two completed plays are available now for viewing. Mark your calendar for the final spring production this coming Saturday evening.

Last weekend, SLS Theater presented two of its three spring plays in creative, online productions, which had audiences at home laughing on back-to-back days.

The pre-recorded Middle School production of 15 Reasons Not To Be in a Play was packed with wit. The play’s co-director Magistra Mahler shared, “I loved seeing everyone's out-of-the-box (literally!) thinking as we worked through the logistics of our first Zoom production.” Head of Middle School Amber Berry added, “The play was filled with fantastic puns delivered by our talented young actors. This was a lighthearted performance with an underlying deeper message for us to take away and ponder.” The cast members were live after the production for a Q&A chat with the online audience. Through May 29 only, you can view St. Luke’s MS production of 15 Reasons Not To Be in a Play.

The Upper School took on the challenging Molière farce The Imaginary Invalid with great gusto. Head of Upper School Liz Perry shared after the performance, “The livestream performance of The Imaginary Invalid just blew my mind. I forgot I was watching Zoom and fell into the comedy of the play.” Director Dale Griffa added, “I am so proud of this amazing group of actors and technicians.” Click here to watch a recording of this St. Luke’s US live production.

St. Luke’s Theater Arts Director John Conners commented, “I feel so lucky to know that we have students and faculty that were able to take on a difficult situation and make the best of it. I’m happy both of these shows brought us some laughter and togetherness.”
