Mindfulness: Paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally

Why Mindfulness in Education?

Mindfulness prepares minds for learning.

The science and data around the benefits of mindfulness are substantial. Mindfulness can reduce unhealthy stress while increasing focus. This combination (less stress, more focus) translates into improved learning, greater retention, and an enhanced sense of well-being.

Regular mindfulness practice helps students, teachers and parents better understand the brain and the many ways it can shape how we experience school and life.

Who should attend?

Faculty, administrators and parents interested in gaining understanding of mindfulness, its benefits and its application in an educational setting.

St. Luke’s School is a secular private school in New Canaan, CT for grades 5 through 12 serving 25 towns in Connecticut and New York.
