La'Vandra DuPree has served as Assistant to The Head of School and Director of Financial Aid since 2005 at Waterside School in Stamford, which is an Independent School serving children and families regardless of limitations in income or circumstances. She has also served as past Parent Council President and was a founding member of the Waterside Alumni Parent Association. La'Vandra regularly coaches Waterside families on life skills and she has a particular gift for helping parents of underserved students learn to navigate their way and become active members within their independent school communities.
 
Prior to her work at Waterside, La'Vandra worked for 21 years serving both the medical and emotional needs of the elderly and their families. Her community involvement has been extensive, serving in her church as a member of the Women Circle Inn Ministry, which helps empower teenage girls and women to live to their fullest potential. She is also very active in the broader Stamford community, organizing food drives, neighborhood clean-ups, and spearheading regular cooking and delivery of meals to various shelters in Connecticut. She has a passionate commitment to helping those in need. 
 
She earned her B.S. in Behavioral Science from Mercy College.
 
La’Vandra lives in Stamford with her husband, Anthony, and is the proud mother of three children, Anthony II, Alexis ’18, and Aaron. She loves cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
