Jody Truwit

Jody is a CBT Therapist, working with Feeling Good Psychotherapy based in New York City. Prior to that, Jody worked as a Social Worker in the Transitional Living Programs at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan. Jody also serves as a Guardian Ad Litem, advocating for the rights and needs of children in the foster care system. 
 
Previously, Jody was a Clinical Therapist MSW Candidate at the Child Guidance Center in Norwalk, CT. There, she provided outpatient therapeutic services to children and their families to treat psychological, behavioral, developmental, educational, and social problems.

Prior to pursuing her MSW, Jody worked extensively in the non-profit world, with a focus on education and advocating for the needs of underserved children and their families. 
 
She was a consultant to Duncan Edwards in the founding of The Waterside School in Stamford. Earlier in her career, Jody was the Director of Development and Special Campaigns at Save The Children in Westport, CT. Prior to Save the Children, Jody worked as Associate Director of Development of A Different September Foundation at Boston University, where she managed Chelsea Schools’ pioneering educational initiatives with the Superintendent and staff from the Boston University School of Education. 
 
Jody holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Yale University, where she was captain of the varsity women’s swim team. In addition, Jody received her Masters of Social Work from New York University. Jody and her husband, Mitch, have four children: Cooper ’18, Alexandra '18, Jack '20, and Teddy ('22). She has a long-time passion for education and is excited to be a part of helping St. Luke's continue to grow and thrive.
