Strong Scores for St. Luke’s World Language Students

Congratulations to all the St. Luke’s World Language students who attained national recognition for their excellent performances on the 2017 National Spanish Examination, National French Contest, National Latin Exam and COLT Poetry Recitation Contest.
 
St. Luke’s Spanish students earned a total of 9 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze medals along with 28 honorable mentions. The National Spanish Examination is the largest of its kind in the United States with almost 158,000 students participating this year.

Scoring on the National French Contest was strong with 10 gold, 8 silver, 10 bronze and 21 honorable mentions. Almost 80,000 students nationwide took the exam this year. In addition, two students earned platinum awards for achieving the highest score in the country for their level.
 
In the National Latin Exam, St. Luke’s students received 23 achievement recognitions—earning gold and silver awards as well as placing in the Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Maxima Cum Laude, Cum Laude, Ribbon of Achievement and Outstanding Achievement categories. The National Latin Exam is taken in 14 countries by more than 100,000 students.
 
Selected St. Luke’s Mandarin students take the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) Chinese Proficiency Test in late May with results available in June.
