St. Luke’s French Program Ranked Highest in the Country by AATF

S.A.
The SLS French program received the rank of “Exemplary with Distinction,” the highest rank a French program in the United States can receive from the American Association of Teachers of French.

After a unanimous vote by a panel of AATF judges, St. Luke’s was awarded this top rank for the fourth consecutive time, making the SLS French program the only program in the country to be consistently recognized since the award’s inception in 2015.

In order to be considered for this honor, St. Luke’s French teachers submit a dossier of hundreds of documents, photos, videos, lesson plans, letters of support (from alumni, parents, colleagues, and administrators), and more as part of the AATF Exemplary application process, which takes place every two to three years.

“We are proud to be recognized with this top, national rank once again,” said World Language Department Chair Jon Shee. “Our fabulous French teachers go well beyond the basics to create an exciting and unique program, giving their students the most enriching experience possible. We are profoundly grateful to the alumni and parents who wrote letters endorsing our program and to our current French students, who clearly believe in what we are trying to accomplish.”

Félicitations to all of St. Luke’s French teachers!
