Baseball

The Storm came determined to get a victory at home against GFA Tuesday 4/18 as Oz Jensen '19 had an impressive pitching performance that set the tone for the entire game. Some highlights were Colin Meany '17 hitting a two-run double in the first inning and Nolan O'Brien '19 hitting a bases-loaded triple in the 6th to put the game away. The Storm secured a solid 10-1 victory.

Softball

Monday, 4/17, proved to be a long day for the Storm as it fell to Cheshire Academy 10-3.
In the first inning, Noell Ruschil ‘18 drove in a run, when she doubled, to give SLS an early lead.
Cheshire Academy would go ahead in the third inning with two runs and wouldn’t look back. The Fighting Cats got hot in the 6th inning as they added four more runs to put the game away.

On Wednesday, 4/19,  the Storm bounced straight back to defeat FAA rivals Rye Country Day 13-3 thanks, in part, to Courteney Newman ‘18 who drove In five runners. The Junior hit a homerun in the first and a triple in the sixth.
SLS took an early lead in the first inning when Newman blasted a homer to the outfield driving in two runs. The team added five runs in the sixth inning and Maddy Sead ‘19 put a bow on the win with another homer.
Emma Cropper ‘19 earned the win for visitors as she tossed six innings, surrendering three runs, six hits, striking out four, and walking zero.
The Storm had 15 hits in the game from Newman, Kendall Boege ‘19 , Ruschill, Cropper, and Maya Klein ‘18.

Golf

Brunswick defeated SLS Golf in a tough match Monday at Fairview Country Club.  Jack Maguire led St. Luke’s with a round of 36 and Captain Jake Lusting shot a 40 for the Storm, but their efforts did not clinch the win.

In a strong rebound on Thursday SLS dominated Rye 6-3 at The Country Club of New Canaan with scores of 36, 37, 37 and 38 – proving that SLS is still a dominating force.  Looking ahead the team has an away match at GFA and will also meet Hamden Hall at home this week. Go Storm Golf!
