St. Luke’s took home first place in the Parliamentary Debate at the 2017 Yale University Invitational Tournament. Seniors Chloe Kekedjian (New Canaan) and Bilal Memon (Norwalk) endured more than nine hours of debate to emerge as champions.

“This was the result of hard work, intense studying and preparation,” said St. Luke’s Center for Leadership Global Education Director Beth Yavenditti. “Chloe and Bilal were ready for this.”

Over 200 schools participated in this twenty-fifth annual event which took place September 15-17, 2017. A total of 80 teams competed in the Parliamentary Debate.

St. Luke's Upper and Middle School Debate Teams are a growing force on the debate scene—competing and ranking in regional, state, national and international competitions.
