V. Parker
St. Luke’s School was the site of the announcement of the 2018 Special Olympics’ Connecticut team. Athletes will  compete in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Washington. Hundreds of St. Luke’s Storm athletes showed up to cheer their fellow athletes’ accomplishments.

“A big shout out to our students Alexandra, Cooper and Jack Truwit” said Kate Parker-Burgard, Director of Character Education in St. Luke’s Center for Leadership. “Under their leadership, our students made signs with Special Olympic athletes names. Everyone cheered as the team was named. It was truly uplifting to celebrate the wonderful spirit of this competition.”

St. Luke’s has had a longstanding relationship with Special Olympics including an annual basketball tournament.
