5th Grade Kiva Club: Enter to Learn, Go Forth To Serve

V.Parker
The 5th Grade Kiva club created a brief but big video message as a reminder that the group is continuing to pursue its goal of raising money for Kiva.org microloans, given to people throughout the world. Since the club began three years ago, the St. Luke’s Kiva team (spearheaded by the 5th Grade club) has raised a total of $11,425, providing microloans to 208 selected recipients.

Watch this video created by last year’s 5th grade Kiva team (with the help of 5th grade teacher/Kiva club advisor Ty Wieland and Academic Technologist Eli Fendelman), where they explain the importance of Kiva and how other students can participate.

As Wieland shared, “This is an engaging way for 5th graders to live out the St. Luke’s motto, Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve, as these loans afford terrific opportunities for people in difficult circumstances to improve their own lives.”

Members of our community can help by collecting and donating box tops to St. Luke's or participating in the St. Luke’s Kiva team.
