St. Luke's Proud To Play For The Cure

Dan Clarke
The St. Luke's Field Hockey program participated in its 5th annual Play for the Cure to benefit the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR).

This has become a signature event of the fall season which incorporates program-wide activities that unify players, coaches and fans toward the common goal to find a cure for cancer.

The team held program-wide practices, bake sales, pink socks sales as well as organizing generous donations from individuals.

This year Field Hockey was joined by the Girls Varsity Soccer and Varsity Volleyball teams and together they raised more than $3167 for the charity.

Head Field Hockey Coach Brinley Ehlers was extremely proud of the efforts of everyone involved: “It was really fun to get the other girls programs involved this year to help raise money for a cause that is so near and dear to me. To have our younger players involved too is so awesome and it’s great to see unity within our girls programs. I am super proud of everyone who helped make this such a success.”
