St. Luke's Tops Gunnery in Class B Clash

Evan Downey
With two starters out, St. Luke's got a big boost from its bench to pull out a 68-49 win over Class B opponent Gunnery.  Andrew Varoli led the Storm with 6 first-half three-pointers to finish with 18 points and give St. Luke's a 33-26 halftime lead.  St. Luke's quickly pushed the lead out to 17 in the first few minutes of the second half and managed to put together enough defensive stops to pull out the win.  Jackson Ryan scored 15, while Jah'khi Washington finished with a career high 13 points, and Jackson Selvala added 11 to join Varoli in double figures.  Nick Brown chipped in 5 points, Scott Vollmer added 3, and Cole Bryant scored a bucket to add to the Storm offensive attack.  St. Luke's returns to the hardwood on Wednesday to take on 2017 NEPSAC Tournament Finalist Marianapolis Prep.  Tip is at 4:30pm.
