St. Luke's Drops Class B Contest to Marianapolis Prep

Evan Downey
St. Luke's Boys Varsity Basketball dropped a close 57-53 contest to a talented Marianapolis Prep squad on Wednesday afternoon.  After falling behind early, the Storm finished the first half on a 16-9 run to take a 32-29 lead into halftime.  Both teams traded leads for much of the second half until Marianapolis pushed their lead out to seven with two minutes to go.  The Storm mangaged to cut it to two with twenty second remaining, but were unable to get any closer.  Jonas Harper led St. Luke's with 23 points and 6 assists.  Andrew Varoli and Scott Vollmer joined Harper in double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively.  Jackson Selvala added 5 points and Jackson Ryan added a bucket to round out the Storm offensive attack.  St. Luke's returns to the hardwood on Friday afternoon to take on FAA Rival Brunswick at home in Carey Gymnasium.  Tip is at 4pm.
