St. Luke's Tops Hun School with Second-Half Comeback

Evan Downey
St. Luke's Boys Varsity Bsaketball got off to a very slow start against a tough and long Hun School team and trailed 37-12 at the half after a half-court heave pushed the Raiders lead into double digits.  The Storm managed to regroup and played hard-nosed team defense in the second half as they slowly chipped away at the Hun lead.  St. Luke's took the lead for good on a Jonas Harper 3 with 7:05 left in the second and battled to bush the lead out to as much as 8 before a late Hun run led to a 67-64 final.  Harper led the Storm with 29 points and was joined in double figures by fellow senior Jackson Selvala with 12.  Jackson Ryan and Andrew Varoli each scored 8, while Cole Bryant added 5, Scott Vollmer scored 3, and Jah'khi Washington scored 2.  St. Luke's returns to the hardwood on Tuesday for a 4pm tilt against FAA rival Hamden Hall.  Both teams come into the game with perfect records in FAA play.
