Hamden Hall Snaps St. Luke's 42-Game Win Streak Against FAA Opponents

Evan Downey
Hamden Hall defeated St. Luke's Boys Varsity Basketball Tuesday afternoon, snapping the Storm's 42-game win streak against FAA competition, which dated back to 2015.  Despite a solid start for the Storm, a combination of the Hornets' pressure defense, as well as St. Luke's cold shooting and sloppy play allowed Hamden Hall to take a 33-26 lead into halftime.  After the half, The Hornets' lead quickly ballooned to 15 at 50-35.  St. Luke's managed to cut it to single digits on three separate occasions, but the missed shots down the stretch as Hamden Hall ran away in the closing minutes.  Jonas Harper led St. Luke's with 24 points.  Andrew Varoli added 9 points on 3 three-pointers, while Jackson Ryan scored 6, Jackson Selvala netted 5, Scott Vollmer scored 4, Jah'khi Washington scored 2, and Andrew Lau added 1.  St. Luke's returns to the hardwood on Friday evening at Brunswick.  Tip is at 5pm.  The game will be streamed at: http://locallive.tv/brunswick
