St. Luke's Siblings Qualify In CT Ski Shootouts
It was a busy week for the St. Luke’s Ski teams as they had back-to-back races on Wednesday, January 31 and Thursday, February 1 at Mount Southington.
Andrew Kurth ‘18 continued his impressive season finishing 5th in Wednesday’s race with times of 24:16 and 22.67 for an overall time of 46.83. The senior captain followed that up on Thursday with a 3rd place finish with times of 22:49 and 21:89 for an overall time of 44:38. Curtis Camp ‘19 also had two fine races finishing 53rd and 34th respectively.
On the girls side, Phoebe Kurth ‘20 finished 6th overall in Wednesday’s race with times of 25:04 and 24:27 and 9th overall on Thursday (22:49 and 21:89). Kirsten Pastore ‘19 finished 34th and 29th with overall times of 54.85 and 51.05. In Thursday’s race Elie Lyon ‘22 and Harper Boege ‘20 finished 40th and 43rd overall to cap off a great week for the Storm.
On Monday, January 29 the Kurth siblings both qualified for the second round of the Team CT Shootouts. The top 30 boys and girls from the Giant Slalom event move on to the slalom race on Monday, February 5. The top 12 boys and girls from Monday’s race will get to compete for Team CT. Both Andrew and Phoebe finished 16th with Camp and Pastore just missing out.
