Summer at St. Luke’s kicked off with the Mindfulness in Education Conference and the first session of the popular College Essay Writing Workshop. According to rising senior Hannah Amendola who completed the writing workshop, “This writing workshop has provided me with the guidance and structure necessary to craft compelling and profound college essays. At the week’s beginning, I was writing nonsense without direction, but on day 4, I find myself with a solid draft of my personal statement, which I’ve been fortunate to get a variety of eyes on.”

English teacher Frank Henson, one of the workshop instructors, commented, “I love teaching this workshop. Since colleges are seeking personal narratives, it's a chance to bring out the storyteller in students, and help them find meaning in their experiences, thoughts, and differences. The workshop is about so much more than essays; it's about thinking deeply within the context of experience and learning."
