Dan Clarke
A huge congratulations to Isabel Mezei '19 who won a silver medal this summer at the 2018 World Junior Rowing Championships in Racice, Czech Republic.

Competing in the Women’s eight final, the U.S. finished second overall after overtaking the Romania boat as the crews crossed into the final 500 meters.

Mezei, who rows for Saugatuck Rowing Club, qualified for the U.S. National team with five other rowers from the Connecticut club.

St. Luke’s Alumnus Nate Phelps ‘18 also competed in the men’s quadruple sculls and finished fourth in the B final for a 10th-place finish overall. The crew rowed in third through three-quarters of the race before Denmark passed the Americans in the final 500 meters.
