National French Week on the Hilltop

V.Parker
St. Luke’s continued its annual tradition of celebrating National French Week in style.

During lunchtime this week, students were invited to participate in various activities including French YouTube sing-alongs, interactive games, and a laser-cut Eiffel Tower Building Workshop.

Upper School World Language Chair Jon Shee shared, “This year we focused on the theme of ‘French=Jobs’ and posted hundreds of current jobs, many in Connecticut, that require or prefer French language skills.” Throughout the Dining Commons, tables displayed these Fun Facts About French, and FLIK participated by serving French-inspired dishes.

On Wednesday, more than 150 St. Luke’s French students and a total of 1470 students and teachers from throughout the state attended a concert featuring Québécois/Senegalese rapper Webster.  Shee added, “It was an exciting event and full of energy.”
