Lunch & Lead: From Insurance Industry to Author

VGP
From Center for Leadership Director Kate Parker-Burgard:

In December, the Center for Leadership’s Lunch & Lead series featured former St. Luke’s parent Audrey Insoft who shared about her journey to becoming a writer. Starting off in journalism, Insoft quickly found her way into the insurance industry, which was her career for 25 years before she became a stay-at-home mom to her adopted son from Vietnam. Several years after they adopted Alex (St. Luke’s Class of 2018), she discovered that the couple that helped them with the international adoption had a fascinating story and she wanted to tell it.

After more than 70 interviews with Vietnam veterans and seven years of writing, Insoft published Divine Fate. Students were eager to learn more about the process of writing and book and eagerly asked her questions. Who knows? Maybe there’s a budding author among them.
