7th Grader Wins Geography Bee

V.Parker
The entire St. Luke’s Middle School gathered into the Wyckoff Family Black Box Theatre where eight previously qualified 5th-8th graders competed in the MS Geography Bee (Geobee).

Round after round, the contestants won and lost some until it was down to the final two contestants: Jack Silverman ‘23 and Dylan West ‘24. For twelve rounds, Jack and Dylan continually matched scores as the anticipation in the room built. The face-off was finally over with Dylan taking first place and Jack second. Teddy Balkind ‘24 came in third.

Geobee champs from around Connecticut each take an online test and the top scorers will advance to the state finals.

Congratulations to all our St. Luke’s Geography participants: Cessa Lewis ‘23, Jack Silverman ‘23, Teddy Balkind ‘24, Leo Powilatis ‘24, Dylan West ‘24, Matheo Picon ‘25, Marley Price ‘25, Felix DeSantis ‘26, Kate West ‘26
