Valentines for Veterans

V. Parker
The Valentines for Veterans campaign was brought to the Hilltop last week by St. Luke’s Support Our Soldiers Club and the Student Service Board. During advisory, Upper School students were asked to make Valentine's Day cards for those who have served our country. St. Luke's Center for Leadership provided paper and markers for the homemade cards. Some students wrote simple notes thanking the veterans for their service while others shared longer messages of appreciation.

Support Our Soldiers Club Co-President Raven Sead ‘20 said, “We asked that the students put some thought into these cards and their notes because I've seen the impact that a personal message can have on those who have served in our armed forces. We collected all the cards at the end of the day and sent them to Congressman Himes' office to be distributed to veterans in our area.”

A special thanks to Aidan Gunn '21 who, on behalf of the Service Board, helped connect St. Luke's with the office of Congressman Himes. Aidan has worked on the Valentine's campaign at the Congressman's office since the 7th grade.
