designLab and New Canaan Library Joint Maker Event

V. Parker
From Center for Leadership Director Kate Parker-Burgard:

St. Luke’s designLab teamed up with the New Canaan Library for Visit & Play at St. Luke’s New designLab. St. Luke’s students and designLab Director Michael Mitchell mentored local families while they worked in the designLab. Upper School students took the lead in teaching the younger guests as they tinkered with technology.

The event was part of New Canaan Library’s community-read of Spare Parts. Laura Miller, Technology Education Specialist at the library, commented: "We were so pleased to have partnered with St. Luke’s for this One Book New Canaan event. High school tech and robotics feature prominently in New Canaan’s 2019 community-read Spare Parts. Thanks to St. Luke’s for inviting the library community into St. Luke’s recently renovated, state-of-the-art designLab. This special collaboration expanded the reach of our community-read and offered a hands-on learning experience."
