Exploring Political Discord & Civil Discourse at St. Luke’s

NBT
On April 25, CNN anchor and St. Luke’s parent Alisyn Camerota and Congressman Jim Himes, joined Head of School Mark Davis for a lively discussion of Political Discord & Civil Discourse. The discussion covered the rise of tribalism, the limits of media echo chambers, and the power of respectful disagreement. Students lined up to ask thought-provoking questions that demonstrated a deep interest in the subject matter.

A video and photo gallery of the assembly will follow.

Immediately after the assembly, Community Goals for Learning (CGL) discussions were held within paired advisory groups—giving students the opportunity to reflect, react and expand upon the issues raised. On May 16, Ari Fleischer, former White House Secretary for President George W. Bush, will join students for another Political Discord & Civil Discourse assembly.

Thanks to the Center for Leadership and Global Studies Director Beth Yavenditti for arranging this exceptional event.
