Physics Photo Project
This summer, two St. Luke's students received national recognition for photo projects they created in their physics class. The Physics Photo Project was under the direction of Science Teacher Joshua Schneider, Photography Teacher Jeorge Yankura, and Academic Technologist Eli Fendelman. Schneider shared details about the assignment and contest:
Last spring, students in my physics classes took photos displaying some principle of physics and then explained the principle being demonstrated. These images were posted on a class page, and students in the class reviewed and selected favorites. After the project was complete, some of the students entered their photos into the AAPT (American Association of Physics Teachers) National Physics Photo Contest.
Two of those entrants, Phoebe Kurth '20 and Clara Pakman '19, were selected as finalists in the national contest this summer, and their photos are posted on the national website.
Copies of these photos can also be viewed on the 4th floor science corridor.
