Vive le français: SLS National French Week

V. Parker
From Upper School World Language Chair Jon Shee:

During the past five days, students have celebrated the decades-old St. Luke’s tradition of National French Week. It featured a gallery of francophone musical artists from around the world, French-themed food each day from Flik (including delicious beignets served by Haitian-born Flik team member Joseph Jean-Paul), a music trivia-filled Kahoot game, French-focused books in the library, and more.

Students in both Middle and Upper Schools also enjoyed two special guest speakers during lunch. St. Luke’s parent Sean Patrick talked about his work in international advertising and marketing. Lisa Kawamoto shared stories about her work as a translator and project manager in French-speaking countries and beyond.

It was a joie-filled week as students and faculty celebrated the language and culture from le monde francophone.

St. Luke’s National French Week was organized by St. Luke’s French teachers: Monsieur Shee, Monsieur Downey, Madame Sarrazin, Madame Badan, and Madame Berry.
