Record Number of Seniors To Play Collegiate Sports

St. Luke’s is proud to announce a record number of student athletes from the Class of 2020 who will continue to compete in their chosen sports at the collegiate level.

This year, a group of 21 seniors, which represents approximately 26% of the graduating class, will go on to play a varsity sport in college. This is well above the national average (7%) for high school athletes.

The senior athletes recruited to play in college will compete across six different sports for various Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 schools. The collegiate athletes are:

Abbey O’Meara (Field Hockey,Smith College, Christian Haas (Football,  St. Lawrence University), Tank Intrieri (Football,  Johns Hopkins), Dylan Johnson (Football, Tufts University),  Andrew Lau (Football, Union College), Shamond Moore (Football, Springfield College), Jordan Robinson (Football, Pace University), Bear Crystal (Soccer, Berry College), Mack Lemkau (Soccer, Babson College), Lea Panagiotidis (Soccer, University of Delaware), Jackie Thompson (Soccer, Kenyon College), Lily Tencic (Soccer, Smith College) Chuck Clemons (Basketball, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), Gavin Greene (Basketball, Western New England University), Summer Klein (Basketball, Nichols College), Janelle Johnson (Basketball, Temple University),  Lexi Watson (Basketball, Mitchell College), Jerry Rutigliano (Lacrosse, Middlebury College), Meredith Macey (Tennis, Grinnell College), 
Jack Truwit (Tennis, Williams College), and Connor Rosow (Sailing, Tufts University).
 
St. Luke’s Athletic Director Mike West is proud of the graduating class: “This group of seniors has brought so much to the St. Luke’s community. They are terrific student-athletes, but most importantly, spirited teammates. They have all elevated the program, while committing to a personal journey of continued improvement. I’m so proud to celebrate this group as one of our most accomplished graduating classes at St. Luke’s.”

The St. Luke’s Athletic Department will honor the group at the annual St. Luke’s Athletic Awards Night on Tuesday, May 26.
