GVT Welcomes Back D1 Alum

Daniel Clarke
During the last two weeks, Girls Varsity Tennis welcomed three former SLS tennis stars to its weekly Zoom call to talk about their experiences playing at the collegiate level.

Elizabeth Laub ‘18 joined the group chat on Wednesday, May 6, to discuss her experiences at Colgate University. Laub played all four years of high school for the Storm, winning the FAA Doubles Championship in her senior year and three Consecutive NEPSAC titles, before moving on to play for the Raiders.

On Wednesday, May 13, GVT was thrilled to host Megan Douglass Clark ‘09 and Katherine Pettee ‘11. Douglass and Pettee were part of the 2008 team that went undefeated to clinch the FAA title. Douglass also won the FAA singles title that year, as the Storm finished a perfect 11-0. The pair reminisced about their time on the Hilltop and gave valuable feedback to the group about their tennis experiences at James Madison University and Villanova University respectively.

Coaches Ehlers and Tregellas were thrilled to welcome back all three girls to talk with the current crop: “What a treat for us to see them and to hear how much they enjoyed playing on the Hilltop, as well as at their respective colleges. All three were standouts at SLS and beyond”
