The Storm is coming this weekend as all six fall sports are in action against Greenwich Country Day School on Saturday, October 10.

The St. Luke’s cross country team gets things underway with an 11am race in Greenwich. The Storm cross country team is captained by Marguerite DeMarco ‘21, Aidan Gunn ‘21, and Cate Mathews ‘21. The team has a roster of 19 runners, with Shane Carbin ‘21, Liam Patty ‘21, and Jackson Hart ‘21 the other seniors on the team. Be sure to watch out for Danny and Brian Gall ‘23 who are looking to build on the success they enjoyed last fall.

Next in action on Saturday is our field hockey team who will face off against GCDS on the Class of 2018 field at 12:30pm. Coach Walsh’s group was the first of our programs to play against another school this fall when it made the trip to Greens Farms Academy on Saturday, October 3. On a perfect fall afternoon, the two teams played a thrilling contest at the home of the Dragons. This year’s field hockey team is captained by Kathleen Ehlers ‘21, Lucy Ehlers ‘21, and Eloise Leclerc ‘21. Bella Martino ‘21 and Huntley Pizzarelli ‘21 will also provide strong senior leadership.

Girls varsity soccer takes to the Class of 2015 field to face the Tigers at 1:30pm under the guidance of senior captains Julia Lombardo, Audrey Magnussen, and Ryan Weil. Juniors Ali Gall, Elli O’Meara, Audrey Magnussen, Ashley Barton, Macy Owsley, Caitlin Neafsey, and Annika Bonwestsch make for a strong class of competitors.

St. Luke’s volleyball, led by Elyse Kim ‘21, Karey Balkind ‘22, and Catalina Hendricks ‘22, will host an intrasquad scrimmage at 2:30pm on the new outdoor court. The Storm boasts a talented group of seniors, including Caroline Ross, Molly Kim, Abby Johnson, and Nicole Ayoub.

With 11 seniors on its roster, the Storm football team kicks off its 7v7 season at 3pm on Watson Field against the Tigers. Austin Andersen, Eddy Boris, Koy Price, and Jeremy Reid are the four captains, with Ryan Bradley, Vincent DiTeodoro, James Kontulis, Dean Pallas, Andrew Priore, William Thomas, and Skyler Wilkes providing additional leadership for the group.

Boys soccer rounds off what promises to be a wonderful day of sports with a 3pm kickoff in Greenwich. The Storm is skippered by Kainoa Smock ‘21, Jake Kavan ‘21, and Des Pratt ‘21, with Blake Haden ‘21, Doron Loewenberg ‘21, Marc Mortamais ‘21, John Normile ‘21, Nick Rutigliano ‘21, John Sanders ‘21, Ryan Sherman ‘21 completing the group of 10 seniors.

There are also two JV contests on the schedule for Saturday as volleyball hosts GCDS at 1pm and boys soccer travels to the Tigers for another 1pm matchup.
