Storm Alum Featured on CBS Sports

Daniel Clarke
St. Luke’s alums Walter Whyte ‘17 and Jonas Harper ‘18 were featured recently during halftime of the Boston University Men’s Basketball game on CBS Sports Network for epitomizing the St. Luke’s motto “enter to learn, go forth to serve.”

The dynamic duo enjoyed great success when they represented the Storm, winning back-to-back New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) titles in 2016 and 2017, as well as FAA league and tournament championships the same years. They continued that success at Boston University, winning the Patriot League Conference tournament in 2020, the first title for BU since 2011.

Whyte and Harper have been teammates now for six years, but their friendship and brotherhood go well beyond the hardwood.

Featured in BU Today, these two outstanding individuals continue to do great things on and off the court, including as codirectors of operations for Student-Athletes of Color. The BU Athletics group formed last year to create an environment that ensures students’ opinions are valued, respected, and empowered and to foster change both within and beyond BU Athletics.
