St. Luke’s Virtual Homecoming: Celebrating Above & Beyond Alumni Leadership

S. Veneruso
St. Luke’s celebrated a Virtual Spring Homecoming during the weekend of April 23-24, 2021. Activities included: the Alumni Artistic Achievement Award Ceremony, the WSLX Live from the Hilltop Broadcast with WSLX Advisor Jeff Kress and Dan Mecca '81, live-streaming of athletic contests, the Class of 1995’s 25th Reunion, and a conversation with Emma Powless '16, Second Lieutenant in the US Army.

During this Zoom event, alumni, students, parents, faculty and staff tuned in to watch Elyse Kim '21 interview Emma Powless '16. Emma attended the United States Military Academy West Point and was commissioned into the US Army as a Second Lieutenant upon her graduation in 2020. In addition, Emma is one of just 67 women to complete Army Ranger School.

Elyse and Emma discussed Emma's time at St. Luke's as well as her experience as a Cadet at West Point and a Soldier at Ranger School.

We are grateful for Elyse’s and Emma’s leadership and proud to call Emma a St. Luke’s alum!
