St. Luke's Honors Golf and Girls Tennis Seniors

The St. Luke’s Athletic Department celebrated its golf and girls tennis seniors on Thursday, May 6, in the first set of spring sports senior days.

Jack Fitzgibbon, Blake Haden, and Anders Ernberg were honored for their hard work and dedication to the St. Luke’s Golf Team before the contest against Brunswick School got underway. Athletic Director Mike West and Head Coach Jason Warner said some kind words and presented each player with a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.

The team went on to lose a tough match against the Bruins, who remain undefeated for the season.

Next up for St. Luke’s golf is the New England Preparatory Tournament at Bulls Bridge on Saturday, May 8. The team returns to FAA League play on Wednesday, May 12, with a match against Hopkins School at Yale Golf Club.

Audrey Magnusen, Caroline Pellegrino, Tigerlily Jensen, Marguerite DeMarco, Nina Castiglione, and Kathleen Ehlers were recognized for their contributions to the program with Head Coaches Brinley Ehlers and Tish Tregellas marking the occasion with some complimentary words for all six seniors.

The Storm put in another dominant display against King School, winning 6-1 to improve its overall record to 5-1 for the season. Layla Magnusen ‘22, Liza Sieghart ‘24, and CC Buono ‘23 won their singles matches and Caroline Pellegrino ‘21/Macey Millones ‘23, Sophie Dekker ‘23/Kiley Galvin ‘23, and Maddie Fredericks ‘22/Izzy Levi ‘24 won all three doubles matches.

Next up for the Storm is another huge FAA contest at Rye Country Day School on Saturday, May 8, at 3pm.
