Jack Winalski ‘25 Writes Children’s Book

S.A.
On Monday, Nov. 15, Jack Winalski ‘25 held a book signing at the New Canaan Library for his recently published book, "Raising Backyard Chickens During a Pandemic." This book, best for 4-to-8-year-olds, shares Jack’s story about acquiring and raising 12 chickens during the pandemic. Jack said, “I noticed my mom was finding limited quantities of certain foods at the stores during the pandemic, so I decided to start raising backyard chickens.”

During the book signing, Jack shared what it was like to get chickens, start his business—Jack’s Hidden Farm—and write a book.

St. Luke’s Middle School Librarian Jean Myles attended the book signing and shared: “It was an honor to see Jack read his book to the kids. They were captivated by his story, asking questions about his experience raising chickens and the process of writing and publishing his book. Jack even led them in a chicken craft project! He should feel incredibly proud. The SLS Library will have a signed copy for anyone interested in taking a look.”
