Art Teacher’s Work Featured in National Exhibition

Jessica Dowling, St. Luke’s Middle School Art Teacher, is one of 31 artists whose work is on display at the 71st A-ONE national exhibition. More than 1,600 works of art were submitted by nearly 360 artists, with the juror selecting 67 pieces from 31 artists.

You can view Dowling’s three paintings, Cultivation, Observation, and Progress, along with the other work in the exhibition, online and at Silvermine Galleries in New Canaan, Connecticut, through Thursday, Dec. 30.

According to Silvermine Galleries’ website, the 71st A-ONE exhibition was “Established in 1949 as the New England Exhibition, a regional exhibit, it later became known as Art of the Northeast and is now a national exhibition. It features a wide range of collectible contemporary artwork that is both vibrant and surprising. Throughout its history, Silvermine’s signature exhibition has featured the work of many prominent artists, including Louise Nevelson, Elaine de Kooning, and Milton Avery, and jurors have included major critics, curators, and directors from influential art institutions.”
