Head of School Shares St. Luke’s History with Middle Schoolers

Katie Mersky, Middle School Dean of Students
Each year, St. Luke’s sixth graders participate in the SLS Skills class. The class is designed to provide students with essential skills in technology, executive functioning, community, problem-solving, healthy relationships, leadership, and service to help them thrive in sixth grade and beyond. Throughout the year, the class invites St. Luke’s community members to share their expertise and knowledge with the students.

Before Winter Break, students had a special history lesson from Head of School Mark Davis. Davis shared an overview of St. Luke’s School’s history, from its founding in 1928 to the various Heads of School to the first year it became a co-ed institution. The look back at St. Luke’s kicked off discussions on community, including what it means to be a part of a community, especially here at St. Luke’s.
