Storm Ski Team Race Twice in a Week

Daniel Clarke
The St. Luke’s ski team had a busy week with two races at Mount Southington on Tuesday, Jan. 25, and Thursday, Jan. 27.

Pearse Connell ‘23 finished 13th and 19th overall in the girls’ races, followed by McLain Boege, who ranked 33rd and 41st overall. Dakota Kelly ‘22 came in next for St. Luke’s, placing 35th and 45th, respectively, out of 160 racers.

In the boys races, eighth grader Thomas Connell finished first for the Storm and 43rd and 44th overall in a field of over 150 racers. Breck Lyon, also in eighth grade, finished second for SLS and placed 83rd and 76th overall.

Head Coach Erin Hupal was extremely proud of her team's efforts: “It has been amazing to watch the team come together and support each other. It’s great to see the racers return to the top of the mountain after each run to offer their teammates tips on how to handle the course. The athletes had a blast.”
