By: Meredith MacLeod, St. Luke’s Debate Coach
St. Luke’s varsity debate team competed at this year’s American Debate League (ADL) tournament. The tournament had over 20 schools competing from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Two St. Luke’s teams participated: Will Moskowitz ‘25 and Chris Briggs ‘24 in cross-examination debate events and Dash Gilrain-Lennon ‘25 and Samantha Gerber ‘25 in public forum debate events. The cross-examination event topic was “The United States federal government should substantially increase its protection of water resources in the United States.” The public forum event topic was “Increased United States federal regulation of cryptocurrency transactions and or assets will produce more benefits than harms.”

Both St. Luke’s teams won several rounds, resulting in St. Luke's School winning 2nd place overall.

Congratulations to all the debaters!
