St. Luke’s Black Student Union Celebrates Black History Month

S.A.
On Friday, Feb. 25, St. Luke’s Black Student Union (BSU) hosted SoulFest, a Black History Month celebration that featured food, music, and community. Faith Creary ‘25 was instrumental in coordinating this student-led event. Below she shares why SoulFest was important to BSU members.

The Black Student Union (BSU) decided to end Black History Month with a big event. We created SoulFest as a way to bring people together in celebration. The Black culture values music and food, so we wanted those in attendance to experience them with us. Sharing with our school community is important because it gives us the opportunity to show others what brings us together, what makes us, us. We hope that this event demonstrated the importance of celebrating Black history all year, not just for one month.

During SoulFest, members of the Black Student Union honored the late Jordan Robinson ‘20 by displaying a photo and flowers.
