Davis Throws Out First Pitch At Last Baseball Game

Daniel Clarke
St. Luke’s Head of School Mark Davis threw out the first pitch at the last regular-season home baseball game of his tenure on Thursday, May 12.

Davis was a collegiate varsity baseball player at Yale University, a baseball coach during his early days at St. Luke’s, and is the son of Bob Davis who pitched in the major leagues for the Kansas City Athletics.

Athletic Director Mike West introduced Davis to the mound and thanked him for his 20 years of visionary leadership and support of athletics during his time at St. Luke’s. The Head of School then threw a perfect pitch for a strike to get the game underway. The ceremonial first pitch was a wonderful way to honor one of St. Luke’s most avid baseball fans.
