Boys & Girls Golf Close Out Season With FAA Tournament

Daniel Clarke
The St. Luke’s boys and girls golf teams both played in the Fairchester Athletic Association tournaments on Monday, May 23.

The boys team traveled to Maple Moor Golf Course, in White Plains, New York, hoping to defend its 2019 title. (The tournament wasn’t held in 2020 or 2021.) Unfortunately, the course proved to be challenging for a number of the Storm players, and the team finished fourth overall.

Chad Ruggiero ‘24 coped well with the course, shooting SLS’s lowest score of the day with a level par 36. Ben Loomis ‘22 scored 40, Watson Meyer ‘24 and Peter Cioffi ‘23 both carded 41’s, Eoin Mueller ‘23 shot 44 and Matty Shulman ‘25 scored a 47.

The girls tournament was hosted at Century Country Club, in Purchase, New York. St. Luke’s number one and number two golfers, Ally Shulman ‘25 and Sloan Barker ‘22, both shot 49 on an extremely difficult course. Olivia Jones ’22 scored a 61, and Abby Malkin ‘25 rounded out the scoring with a 62. The combined effort saw the Storm finish fourth overall to close out its inaugural season.
