20 St. Luke's Athletes to Play Collegiate Sports

St. Luke’s is proud to announce that 20 student-athletes from the Class of 2022 will compete in their chosen sports at the collegiate level. This number represents approximately 22% of the graduating class, well above the national average (7%) of high school athletes who go on to play a varsity sport in college. The St. Luke’s athletes recruited to play in college will compete across ten sports in both Division 1 and Division 3 schools.

The collegiate athletes are:

Everett Andersen (football, Washington and Lee University), Thomas Arnold (cross country/track, Lehigh University), Karey Balkind (volleyball, Colby College), Nicholas Besgen (swimming, Fairfield University), Sophie Blomberg (basketball, Hamilton College), Brandon Bulerin (football, Springfield College), Mac Busby (rowing, Cornell University), Annalise Correia (lacrosse, Lafayette College), Aren Cummings (basketball, Union College), Andrea DiTeodoro (field hockey, Bowdoin College), Ali Gall (soccer, Trinity College), Jessica Hausman (cross country, Haverford College), Eason Jones (swimming, Yale University), Caroline Lau (basketball, Northwestern University), Ben Loomis (golf, Vanderbilt University), Dillon Mannix (lacrosse, Franklin & Marshall College), Matthew Monterosso (lacrosse, Utica University), Matt O’Connor (football, Tufts University), Luke Rioux (football, Stonehill College), and Teddy Truwit (tennis, Duke University).

The student-athletes were celebrated at the St. Luke’s Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 31. At the awards ceremony, Athletic Director Mike West commented: “In seeking opportunities to participate in sports at the next level, these students will continue to challenge themselves athletically, while balancing the academic demands of college. I have great respect and admiration for their continued commitment to athletics.”
